Keyboard shortcuts, updates & permissions

This page is the quick reference: keyboard shortcuts, how updates arrive, and what each permission is used for. Installation lives in the Installation guide; the full zero-to-report flow is in 5-minute quick start: your first report.

In the extension popup (just press — no clicking needed):

KeyAction
SStart a screenshot immediately
RStart a recording immediately

In the screenshot / annotation editor:

KeyAction
EnterConfirm the selected region and move into annotation
Ctrl / ⌘ + ZUndo the last annotation
Ctrl / ⌘ + YRedo
Ctrl / ⌘ + EnterShare (submit the report)
EscExit the editor (asks for confirmation first)

While typing a text annotation: Enter places the text on the image, Esc cancels this text input.

  • Store installs update automatically — nothing to do. Keep “allow automatic updates” enabled on the extensions page
  • To check the current version: the extension’s own Settings page shows it under “About”, or look at the card on chrome://extensions / edge://extensions
  • Manual (offline) installs do not auto-update — see “Updating a manual install” in the Installation guide

Every permission the extension requests has a concrete purpose — there is no over-collection:
