5-minute quick start: your first report with the extension

This is the shortest path to a complete report: capture a region, mark the problem, share the link.

  • The extension is installed and pinned to the toolbar — see the Installation guide
  • Recommended but not required: sign in to the console so reports carry your name — which makes later follow-up with colleagues much easier — and retention goes from 30 days to 90

Open the page you want to report, launch BugCapturer from the toolbar, drag a rectangle around the problem area, confirm and annotate.

Mark the problem clearly — a picture with an arrow beats a paragraph:

  • Rectangle (default), arrow, pen and text, in two marker colours
  • Annotations can be dragged to reposition them; undo when a stroke goes wrong
  • Console errors and failed requests from the page are already collected and attached — no need to copy them out of DevTools

Describe what you found: what you did, what you expected, what actually happened.

Choose a destination: (optional) when an integration is configured in the backend, the report is delivered into that system automatically.

Click share and a public URL is generated immediately — anyone can open it in a browser, with no extension and no account required.

  • The link opens a read-only view of the report — status, annotations and technical context at a glance
  • Reports routed to an integration appear in that system within seconds; if nothing shows up there, check Delivery logs & retries
  • Everything you have shared is listed in the console under “Feedback” and can be deleted at any time

Anonymous shares are kept 30 days, signed-in shares 90 days, and long-term for paid users. Details: Data flow, storage & retention.
